Harambee for Kenya are a UK based charity who have a number of safe houses in Kenya where they take homeless boys off the street and give them accommodation and education. More details about the charity can be found at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harambeeforkenya.org\/\">http:\/\/www.harambeeforkenya.org\/.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Below you can read one of our Explorers, Matthew Higginbottom 15, summary of the trip:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;<span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">The expedition to Kenya was an amazing and life changing experience for me.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">We started the trip with a visit to Robert Baden Powell&#8217;s grave in Nyeri where we reflected on Scouting. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1138\" src=\"https:\/\/23rdbromleyscouts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG-20180828-WA0077-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/23rdbromleyscouts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG-20180828-WA0077-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/23rdbromleyscouts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG-20180828-WA0077-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/23rdbromleyscouts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG-20180828-WA0077.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; margin-bottom: .0001pt; font-stretch: normal;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">We then continued on our journey with a Safari in Nakuru where we saw many wild animals such as zebras,\u00a0buffaloes, elephants and baboons!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1140\" src=\"https:\/\/23rdbromleyscouts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3410-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/23rdbromleyscouts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3410-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/23rdbromleyscouts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3410-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/23rdbromleyscouts.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3410-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; margin-bottom: .0001pt; font-stretch: normal;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">We finally arrived at Harambree for Kenya&#8217;s safe house at Kisii which was our home for the next week.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">Over the week at the safe house, we were very busy with building a barbecue, entrance steps and painting a few walls in the house, this was all part of the project work for the safe house. When we were not working we watched a football match which the boys played in and visited a soapstone shop. The time at the safe house quickly flew by and it was time to continue our journey.
