Volunteer

The 23rd Bromley Scout Group is run by an army of 40 volunteers, and between us we provide Scouting experiences for around 150 Young People every year.

We currently have a number of volunteer vacancies, ranging from helping at section meetings on a weekly basis, helping with maintenance / gardening at our HQ, to joining one of the committees that support the Scout Group.

Sectional Assistant (Hurricane Beavers) – an enthusiastic adult volunteer is sought to support the Beaver Scout Leaders and in delivering the Beaver programme (6 – 8 year olds) at weekly meetings which typically last for about an hour and a half on a Tuesday evening. Full support and training provided by experienced leaders.

Sectional Assistant (Spitfire Beavers) – an enthusiastic adult volunteer is sought to support the Beaver Scout Leaders and in delivering the Beaver programme (6 – 8 year olds) at weekly meetings which typically last for about an hour and a half on a Monday evening. Full support and training provided by experienced leaders.

Sectional Assistant (Scout Troop) – a driven adult volunteer is required to assist the Scout Leaders in delivering the Scout programme (10-14 year old age group) at the weekly Troop meetings for an hour and a half on a Wednesday Evening. Full support and training provided by experienced leadership team.

Executive Committee Member (Charity Trustee) – Executive Committee member sought to contribute to the running of the Group by providing administrative support, strategic direction, compliance with relevant legislation and completion of the duties set out in The Scout Association’s Policy, Organisation and Rules and those of the Charity Commission.

Fund Raising Committee – charismatic and open minded individuals sought to join the Fund Raising Committee that organises a wide range of fund-raising events which have previously included Christmas Fairs, Quiz Nights, Race Nights sponsored events and more recently digital fund-raising campaigns.

HQ Maintenance – we are seeking practically minded people to join a small team responsible for undertaking simple maintenance tasks at the HQ on an as required basis. This role can be undertaken at a time convenient to the volunteer.

HQ Gardening – we are seeking someone to be responsible for keeping the flower borders at the Scout HQ tidy and presentable. This role can be undertaken at a time convenient to the volunteer.
