On Friday evening our Group Chairman, Colin Goodwin, had the pleasure of collecting a cheque for £1,020 from Bromley Rotary Club. This was a result of the group helping with the Christmas Sleigh Collection on two evenings last month.
Thanks to the volunteers who gave up their time on two cold evenings, and to everybody who donated. The funds will help us to provide high quality Scouting experiences for our Young People.
People can email admin@23rdbromleyscouts.org to be added to a waiting list. Should any tickets be returned they will be offered to those on the waiting list on a first come first served basis
Huge thank you to everybody who came along to our Pantomime last weekend. Around 400 audience members were entertained across four different performances of Snow Queen.
We are delighted to confirm that the Pantomime raised £2,850 – the majority of which will go to the Scout Group, with a small amount also going to the Jamboree fund.
We understand how hard things are for families at the moment and genuinely appreciate every penny that people gave.
Thanks also to every member of the cast and crew, without your hard work, enthusiasm and dedication the Pantomime wouldn’t have been a success.
Plans are already being made for the Pantomime and we are looking for more people to be in the cast. More details will be shared in due course.
The Fundraising Committee are organising a number of events this spring at the HQ – further details will be shared in due course but please do get the dates in your diaries:
Given the current financial challenges faced by many households we have taken the decision to reduce the ticket price from £7.50 to £5.00 (/£6.13 including Fees) to enable as many people as possible to see our Gang Show. If you feel you are able to, then you can make an additional donation at: www.23rdbromleyscouts.org/donate
After an enforced break the group are delighted to once again be putting on a Gang Show. It will be on Saturday 28th January 2023, with performances at 4.00pm and 7.00pm.
The Gang Show is an opportunity for all of the sections within the group (young people and leaders!) to get on stage and perform a song, comedy sketch, poem or dance to entertain the crowd. We are delighted that we will once again be joined by the Brownies who will be taking part in the Gang Show for the third time.
As well as being an entertaining and fun event for all, it is also a great fundraiser for the group.

Thanks to everyone who have donated second hand uniforms and camping gear last term. We have collated all of the donations and will be holding a second hand uniform sale on Saturday 14 January 2023 at the Scout HQ.
As our Young People grow we appreciate they get through a lot of uniforms and camping gear in their time in the group, and we know it can be expensive to keep buying replacements. In order to try to reduce waste, but also make Scouting more affordable, we are trialing holding second hand sales every term.
Thanks to Alison Ancrum and Hazel Murphy who are co-ordinating this for the group. Below you can see details of the items available for sale:
Huge thank you to the army of volunteers who came along on Saturday morning to help put the stage up – this means that the Pantomime rehearsals can kick-on ahead of our performances next month.
It’s not too late to get your tickets for the performances of Snow Queen. There are good numbers of tickets available for Thursday evening, Friday evening and Saturday evening.
Our annual Christmas Carol Concert in the Church will be on Friday 16th December starting at 7.00pm.
It will be held in St Augustine’s Church (next to the Scout HQ). Siblings, parents, guardians, friends etc are all welcome to join us for an evening of festive carols.
Thank you to everybody who came along to Remembrance Day Parade on Sunday 13th November. It was great to have over 60 Young People and Adults representing the the Scout Group, by parading along the road and ending up in a packed church. Thanks in particular to those who took part in the service by doing a reading or laying a wreath, and also the sections who made items of remembrance for the service.
Well done to Oliver Ward who once again made chocolate poppies which were sold in aid of the Royal British Legion and made an outstanding £156.50.
