Volunteer Opportunity – Hall Booking Coordinator

We’re looking for a volunteer to help coordinate the hire of our Scout hall. It’s a light‑touch role with around 15–20 bookings per year and typically takes about an hour a week on average, depending on when enquiries come in.

The role mainly involves:

– Checking and responding to enquiries in a dedicated email inbox

– Confirming availability and sending hire conditions to potential hirers

– Answering occasional ad hoc questions about the hall

– Coordinating with our small team of key holders who open and close the hall

– Liaising with the Group Treasurer to confirm receipt of payment before each hire goes ahead

This is a great way for a parent or guardian of one of our members to support the Scout Group, especially if you’re not able to volunteer at a weekly section meeting. The role is flexible, can be done from home at times that suit you, and doesn’t require attending the HQ. Income from hall lettings goes directly towards supporting our Scouts and helps keep the cost of Scouting down for local families.
