The group have taken the very tough decision to cancel our pantomime performances that were scheduled to take place in January.
The cast and crew have already put in countless hours to get ready for the performances, but given the current uncertainty regarding Covid we feel the safest decision for all is to stop rehearsing and cancel the performances.
We will be in touch with all ticket holders after Christmas with details about refunds.
A huge thank you must go out to everyone who has put so many hours into preparations – it is very much appreciated.
The group will be holding our annual Christmas Carol Service at St Augustine’s Church this coming Friday.
It will start at 7.00pm, and many sections will be taking part in the service.
All relevant Government guidance will be followed at the service, for example the wearing of face coverings (unless exempt).
We have decided not to have refreshments after the Carol Service, in order to try and keep people as safe as possible in the leadup to Christmas.
We look forward to seeing many people on Friday for our final group event before Christmas.
Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fair on Saturday – we raised a fantastic £799.44 which will help the group to provide more Scouting experiences for our young people.
It was great to see so many people back at one of our favourite events of the year. People were able to start their Christmas shopping, try their luck at one of our many festive games and treat themselves to a delicious homemade cake!

After such success in previous years one of our Scouts, Oliver Ward, will once again be selling chocolate poppies in the Scout HQ after the ceremony.
They will be in a sealed bag and all ingredients are listed on the pack to assist with any allergies. The chocolate poppies will be on sale for 50p each with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion. If people could please bring the exact change it would be much appreciated.
After an enforced break due to the pandemic, the Group are delighted that the 23rd Bromley Pantomime Society will be returning in January 2022. They will be putting on performances of The Snow Queen.
Tickets are now on sale – further details can be found on the Pantomime page of the website.
The group are pleased to publish our Trustees’ Annual Report & Accounts Year Ending 31 March 2021.
This Annual Report is issued by the trustees of the 23rd Bromley (St Augustine’s) Scout Group in conformity with requirements of relevant Charities Acts and the Policy, Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association. It covers the financial year ended 31st March 2021 and the census year ending 31st January 2021.
Due to a change in personal circumstances one of our current Hurricane Beaver leaders is no longer able to attend meetings on a regular basis. We are therefore looking for an adult to join the existing Hurricane Beavers Leadership Team. The existing team have already got a great programme in place which is fun, messy, loud and jam packed with adventure – we are really looking for an adult who can be present and support at the weekly meetings.
If you are someone who enjoys interacting with young people, and is patient and caring then you are just the kind of person we are looking for. Full support is given by the two Group Scout Leaders, as well as other members of the Beaver Leadership Team.
The Beaver Section is our youngest Section, with Young People joining aged 6 and staying with the section until they are 8. Hurricane Beavers meet on Tuesday evenings during term time – they start at 5.00pm and finish at 6.30pm.
We are also looking for adults to volunteer at our other sections, such as Explorers (14-18 year olds) who meet on a Thursday evening from 7.45pm until 9.15pm.
If you would be interested in joining in the adventure as an adult volunteer then please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do also share details with anyone who you think might be interested.
The group are delighted that we are able to once again start planning some more of our annual events.
